Welcome

I am Ann Avis Parkey, a studio potter working in the small town of Archer City, Texas. The heritage of this area is cattle grazing on vast grasslands, pumping oil wells and Larry McMurtry’s Bookstores. My handcrafted ceramics reflect this environment. The colors and textures are those of the red earth, blue sky, muddy water, cactus and tall Indian-grass.

My main products are wheel-thrown dinnerware customized with a family’s brand, special date or monogram. Each handmade plate, bowl and mug are made from durable stoneware clay, commercial high-fire, food-safe glazes and fired in an electric kiln. This functional ware is dishwasher and microwave friendly.

I will have one-of-a-kind pieces offered on eBay.

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Midwestern State University and have been playing in the clay for about ten years now.

Enjoy the satisfaction of creating your own pottery by attending clay classes for children and adults. Classes are held on Thursdays during the school year. Both hand building and wheel throwing techniques are offered.
